Mel has been an automotive technician since 1991 and worked for AA Auto since 2009. He is the Assistant Manager as well as an ASE-Certified Technician. Mel, a native of Hawaii, took advantage of a Ford program that offered training and education to students interested in automobile repair. Though he is grateful to the Ford program that trained and employed him for some time, Mel prefers the variety he sees at AA Auto. “The concept is the same for any car, to approach, diagnose, and repair. But to work on many different makes and models is exciting for me,” he said. Mel said he knew in high school that this was the type of work he wanted to do. He told his dad exactly what he wanted to do and he followed through in community college and at a Hawaiian Ford dealership. Mel moved for his wife and said he loves living and working in the Pacific Northwest.
